7 - 12 july 2008 Fermo Dance Festival, 11 - 13 july International Dance Competition

The event in which you will participate is the Dance Grand Prix ITALIA 2008, a competition that has established itself as the largest and most important amateur dancing event in Europe, divided into different categories (classical dance, modern/contemporary, dance-theatre) which awards the best groups, talents, choreographers and teachers. The commission of international experts, critics and representatives from the prestigious Dance Companies will judge the School and Dance Dep. participants. Such an initiative will encourage cultural growth through dance as a universal language and will especially serve to stimulate friendship, solidarity, respect and mutual understanding.

The cultural association Danza Urbana presents the 10th edition of Danza Urbana - INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF DANCE IN URBAN LANDSCAPES from September 5th to 10th in the squares and in the non theatrical spaces of Bologna, last but not least among the greatest events of bè-bolognaestate06, the program of shows and cultural entertainments decided by Angelo Guglielmi, responsible for the cultural sector and for the relationship between the university and the town council of Bologna.

Setting out from the premise that intercultural dialogue is a basic instrument for the understanding and evaluation of differences in creativity, the 2008 Edition of the FABBRICA EUROPA Festival will continue to encourage the circulation of ideas and works in the context of international exchange. The dimension of the laboratory and meeting among people and ideas from distant geographic and linguistic places, in conflict or in any case different one from the other, has always been one of FABBRICA EUROPA's fundamental principles.

In the course of a three-year program director Ismael Ivo elaborated an articulated reflection on the body: Body Attack (2005), Under Skin (2006), and Body & Eros (2007). In June 2008, Ivo will conclude his four-year period in the Biennale’s Dance section with the 6th International Festival of Contemporary Dance: Beauty, Art is beautiful!

The University of Dancing & Acting offers to High School and College aged students a Two Week Program to Discover Italy.

The "Gruppo teatro-danza Duende" , was officially established in 1994 on the initiative of Enza Curto, dancer and choreographer; its initial aim was to create a group of dancers trained under her direction, some of which were already members of the corps de ballet at the "Teatro di Tradizione Politeama Greco" in Lecce, mingled with some young local actors/mimes. The group that derives its name from the spanish word "duende" which identifies the sprite of creativity and energy, has one unique great aim: to unveil sensations, madness, anxieties, happiness and grief, to create the emotion and give it to the audience, performing life through different choreographic scenes enriched with selected music, poetry and many other forms of artistic expression.
