Diving

Italy is a very popular tourist destination that is not so well known for diving, aside from around the islands of Sicily and Sardinia. Perhaps the diving is overshadowed by the onshore history and culture on offer, but whatever the reasons the clear, warm Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas that see only mild currents make ideal places for some relaxed, holiday diving.

Welcome to the Italian section of SCUBA Travel. Or, to be more precise, the Sardinian section. Sardinia is a land of friendly people, ancient ruins and excellent diving. The second largest island in the Mediterranean, it is surrounded by marine caves and cliffs shearing into the sea. You can dive here all year round, but holidaying in May, June or September is perhaps the most pleasant.
