The name says it all yet the place is all about typical foodstuffs and monastic produce. Products on sale include not only typical produce from Marche like pasta, obtained from select durum wheat flours, but also a variety of sauces obtained from select natural products, following “secret” traditional recipes, all made by individual non-industrial producers and small agro-food companies. Cured meats and cheeses include the Fabriano salame and the “ciauscolo”, a soft spreadable pork salame, and the cheese from Fossa not to mention a host of foodstuffs made in the monasteries all over Italy, namely olive oils, wines, chocolate and jams, liqueurs, vinegars and even a whole line of natural cosmetic products made from herbs and botanicals based on ancient and centuries-old traditions and lore. TAGS Loreto, Ancona, Marche typical products, local produce, cosmetic products, traditional recipes, traditional shops in Loreto, delis and gourmet.

Grana Padano: from milk to cheese, selecting raw materials.
One of the keys to Grana Padano’s distinctive organoleptic properties is the milk used to make it, which, in turn, is linked to the cattle fodder. The Production Disciplinary issued by Consorzio per la Tutela del Formaggio Grana Padano permits a limited range of foodstuffs in that a broader selection would be unsuitable for the production of top quality milk.
