Yacht Club Punta Ala, founded in 1976, has a new club house built in 1995 located in a modern marina in the wonderful background of the Tuscan Archipelago with its islands of Elba, Capraia, Gorgona, Giglio and Giannutri. All these destinations are well known and popular nautical tourist spots , in the heart of the Tirrenian sea, for the beauty of the nature and the wealth of history and culture. Punta Ala is located in the heart of Maremma, a region of Tuscany rich with ancient traditions and many Etruscan, Roman and medieval archaeological sites. It lies between the countryside and the sea and it is surrounded by beautiful hills with variety of natural landscapes, with meadows, hills, flowers framed by the blue setting of Tirrenian sea.

At the PuntAla Camping Resort each visitor can choose the type of accommodation best suited to his or her tastes and requirements, but always located in the shade of the attractive maritime pines of the vast pinewood. The majority of the spacious pitches for caravans, camper-vans and tents are located in the innermost and thickest part of the pinewood, where peace and contact with nature reign supreme. Our modern Bungalows Puntala (sleeping 4-6 with air conditioning) and Easy (4-6 without air conditioning), complete with air-conditioning and the highly functional Mobile Homes Easy (sleeping 4) and Easy Plus (sleeping 6) are better suited to those who do not want to sacrifice any comfort during their holiday.

Punta Ala is a modern and equipped residential village with a rational tourist port,situated on a promontory surrounded by the sea in a wonderful position. For its sport facilities, its elegant villas and hotels, built respecting the nature, it is the most "fashionable" tourist center of Maremma.

Punta Ala means "Wing Point" because of the shape of this point of land that extends out into the Mediterranean sea toward the Island of Elba in Tuscany near Grossetto. This land was received by Eleonora of Toledo in donation around 1560 and after many invasions by sea and by barbarians she decided to guard her land and to build the tower "Torre Nuova" on the hill which is in front of the Island of Troia and the nearby rocks raising out of the water named "li Porcellini".
