Learn Italian in Bologna: Arca

blank

Arca’s aim is to promote intercultural exchange and knowledge of Italian culture and society. We offer students a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in which to learn the Italian language.

The school was officially recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education in 1985 and offers courses for a wide range of needs. Students can choose between group and individual lessons, or a combination of both. All our teachers are university graduates and are qualified to teach Italian as a foreign language at all levels.

Arca also organizes a variety of activities that provide students with a wide-ranging sample of social and cultural life in Italy, and more especially that of Bologna:

– Traditional cookery courses

– Food and wine tours

– Walks and excursions in and around the area

– Guided visits to museums, galleries, churches, monuments, parks, etc.

– Aperitives with rich buffets of local regional produce

– Classical music events featuring the works of the most famous Italian composers

– Concerts of modern music

– Participation in festivals organized in Bologna

blankOur students come from all over the world and form groups that are highly varied in age, culture and occupation. Bologna never fails to leave a lasting impression on visitors, who find everything they expected of an Italian city. The wonderful natural landscapes in perfect harmony with the design of the city, the squares and streets enlivened by restaurants, bistrots and bars ready to offer their services to customers throughout the whole year, the extreme warmth of the Bolognese people that makes visitors feel immediately at home, the presence of art in every corner of the city with its museums, galleries, theatres and live concerts.

In reality, you simply have to raise your eyes, take a careful look at each single building, gaze inside the porchways of the old historical palaces inside the city walls that often hide delightful, unexpected private gardens, to realize that in Bologna everything seems to be imbued in poetry.

It’s hardly surprising that many of our students don’t stop at just one visit, but often come back to breath the magical atmosphere once again. It’s not just a simple study holiday to learn a bit of Italian, it’s much more. It’s a journey in the broadest sense of the word, a matchless experience, and the staff of Arca do their utmost, week after week, to offer their students a small but memorable taste of Italy.
